Following several false starts, the popular family-style eatery is marking its reopening day on Tuesday, Nov. 13 on South Road (Route 9) in Poughkeepsie, opening at 10 a.m.
The reopening comes a year after it initially opened and suddenly shuttered its doors, much to the surprise of area residents.
The restaurant opened in January last year after months of delays but closed abruptly after two months in business. The "unprecedented" closure was a first for Golden Corral, a company's spokesman said at the time, adding that the corporation has never been forced to close a store so quickly after a grand opening.
The restaurant is expected to create more than 150 jobs. The grand opening has been scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 13.
“Dutchess County!,” the new franchisee posted on Facebook. “We are so excited about opening our newest location in Poughkeepsie and are honored by the overwhelming response we have received in anticipation of our Grand Opening. We are in the process of training 150 of Dutchess County's finest employees and can't wait to serve this community."
